i had a debate today with my cousin about digital cameras and she was saying how she'd never use digital cameras because the quality isn't as good. she doesn't believe it should be considered art since it's so easy to use and you can manipulate them. but i was telling her how when photography began, people were skeptical about it being considered art for similar reasons. for me, i have different cameras i use, but i don't think there's anything wrong with using digital. sometimes it's just better using digital because it's cost efficient and you can be able to take things the way you want them to be taken. i have a darkroom in my house, but it takes such an immesurable amount of time to make anything half decent as my digital pictures. but everything is art, i believe. as long as people put their heart and soul into it.
yeah, i see good and bad points to both digital and film, so i use both. i use the rebel the most because like you said, cost effective, but im getting a darkroom from a photographer that is going digital and needs a site redesign, so then i can use film more often. still, i wouldnt want to for commercial shoots, because its so nice to see if you got what you needed right away.
i like what you did with the colors on 7 and 8. it reminds me of old photographs in a way the colors are sort of surreal. as if in a fairytale. i like them... i was curious abou tthe ones in the great field. perhaps they didnt turn out. more and more you've made me realize the importance of digital. i think it allows you to expand as a photographer. you have a wonderful eye jen... i'm proud of you.
