( All you need is love... )
Thanks!!
My bff is a larger girl, but is losing a lot of weight. So, I'm making her a tunic style shirt that she can keep cinching as she gets smaller. It's McCall's 5757(style "B") http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M
Whenever I make clothes, I usually follow the finished garment measurements. I think her bust size is 44" and on the pattern sizes, it sys she's a 22w, but the finished measurements say that she is an 8. I was expecting a slight difference, but nothing that extreme. 22w is the second largest size they offer while 8 is the smallest.
Does anyone have experience with this pattern? I know it would be really easy to just take it in because there's nothing to it, just 4 pieces, but we don't live close to each other and it's supposed to be a gift.
Thoughts?

I have to admit that the purse was inspired by an etsy artist, mojospastyle, who I admire. My sister has wanted a purse from me for a while, it's a decorative style I haven't tried before. I'm not selling it or anything like it, so I don't feel bad about making something so similar to mojospastyle's creations.
The necklace was entirely my own design.

In an effort not to repeat the Gingerbread House Disaster of 2007 (it’s worth a chuckle or two) I decided to buy a gingerbread house kit this year. At $10 I figure it’s a steal–much less than the cost of *ahem* a new mixer. I wanted to skip the baking altogether and get to the fun part–decorating. I may not be able to pipe a straight line to save my life, but at least with something like this I can cover up my terrible piping with candy. I’m particularly proud of the icicles.
I think this is a significant improvement over 2007’s house, don’t you?
We’re making informal plans for Ellie’s first birthday on the 20th (it is so hard to believe she’s almost a year old!). It will be small and simple, given how busy most people are this time of year… cake and ice cream, a few pictures. I’m looking forward to seeing El dig into her first cupcake.
Ellie’s birthday is convenient such that the house will be all pretty for the holidays when people come over. I’ve been putting up a few decorations every day, and we’ll probably try to get our tree at the end of next week–I am so excited to have a real tree this year! I’ll have to remember to take pictures of the whole place once it’s done.

Are there any brides in the Baltimore, MD area who have some alterations recommendations? I live in Reisterstown, work in Towson and my mom lives near Dundalk, so anywhere in Baltimore county would be great.
I know I'll need it nipped in around the bust/torso, the bottom hemmed and a bustle put in.
THanks for any advice.
Random things that are FINALLY done!
-I had my final dress fitting the other day and I am SO happy with how everything turned out. And her prices are amazing! I don't know what everyone else is paying for alterations but, I had my dress hemmed and bustled plus I had more lacing added to replace some of the zipper PLUS she added more boning to the bodice to give it more support and it cost me $80!
-We booked the rehearsal dinner site- the Thai restaurant that we 1) had our first "date" at and 2) would go to when we lived on campus and wanted to escape the nasty commons food.
-We applied for a marriage license! We can pick it up on Monday and then we can have our friend ordained!
A question about programs: Right now, when you open up the programs, the left hand side has the wedding party on it and the right hand side is blank. I'm at a loss as to what to put there though since we're not having specific music for our ceremony. Should I just leave the left side blank and have the wedding part on the right side?
Have fun!

Edit, in case people want to know:
I asked FH what he thought about the programs and he liked the quote idea the best so

I did cake tasting, and the lady already filled the contract form and gave me to signs, without even asking if we want to go with them or not! Salesperson in the dress shop urged me to schedule another appointment or order the dress now, but I am just going around, trying styles and will order my dress online.
So, how do you tell them now? I sort of feel guilty after they spend so much time with me, give me free cake, and I don't want to go with them.
Also, how does menu tasting works? We need to try beer, wine and entries. We picked 2 entries for now, but wine and beer - no idea. How many drinks do you try? Do you finish the meal they give you? Hell, just tell me how it worked for you, please.
How does it work with florists: you come, tell them how big is your party and what do you want for decoration, and then what?
I'm going to look for the dress tomorrow, then a meeting with a bakery and a florist next week and tasting later that week too. Please, help.
